We are having an issue with trying to print from Viewer. Eventhough all the data is on a laptop (backdrop PGDB at ArcFM Viewer 9.2.1, ArcGIS Engine 9.2 SP 5), when you select File>Print or select the Print icon, it takes anywhere from 1.5 to 2 minutes for the Print dialog box to pop up!

Is anyone else using Viewer on Engine seeing this kind of performance? Everything else works good, performance is quick otherwise....

Thanks

Chris

I have seen this with some HP printer drivers. Just as an experiment try printing to something other than an HP printer and see if it changes. HP plotters don't seem to be a problem either, just laserjets. I believe this is an issue with ESRI's ArcEngine, not MM's ArcFM Viewer.

It doesn't seem to matter what printer we go to...it just takes a long time for the MM print dialog box to appear on the screen. I have seen where some print drivers and applications take a long time once you hit print from within a print dialog or take awhile when you select Preferences in the print options dialog, but this is bad...

we had a stored display with our Raster (ortho photos) included and eventhough they were "off" just having them in there takes the SD longer to load and the print dialog to take a long time to come up. Once we removed the ortho photos, it comes up in a few seconds.
