I have a Designer (v.9.0.1sp3) user who all of a sudden cannot login to Workflow Manager on their machine. It's not a login/pwd problem because I was able to login to Workflow Manager on a different machine using their login/pwd.

If I try the test button or look at the event log it just gives a generic ADO automation error. I tried an uninstall/reinstall of Designer (but not ArcFM) and this did not change anything, we still get the same error.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

Couple things you might want to check Jim:

Questions: Are you using Oracle for your database? If yes/

On the loggin, select the connection button.

Ensure your DBMS Provider is set to Oracle OLEDB

Ensure you have a service name set up within the Oracle Net manager that is the same name you have put in the WFM Connection "Net Service Name"

Run a test in the WFM Connection window after checking all of this.

Let me know if there is still an issue.

Ian - we dropped Oracle for SQL Server a couple years ago.

The connection info is all okay and the user's login/pwd works fine on other machines.

I'm going to try reinstalling MDAC when I can get on the user's machine again (tech support suggestion).
Thanks.
Jim

FYI - It turned out that some of the user's data access system files had somehow gotten overwritten with older versions that WFM is not compatible with. MDAC was at 2.71 and should've been 2.8. The tricky thing is when I tried to install MDAC 2.80, Windows (XP sp2) said that it was already installed and wouldn't install it. I don't know how many dlls were out of date, the version of sqloledb.dll was one that was quite old. It ended up that we had to get the XP sp2 install CDs and did a repair. (Then Novell had to be re-installed.) Anyway, it works now. Thanks to tech support for helping to troubleshoot the problem.
